Biomedical Scientist
Trained in the Royal Air Force where he served 20 years as a multi-disciplined Medical Laboratory Scientist both in Germany and UK. Steve studied at The University of West of England and Westminster University.
Upon retirement from the RAF in 1996, Steve took up a position as lecturer in Haematology and Transfusion Science at the College of Medicine, Sultan Qaboos University in the Sultanate of Oman until 1998 when he returned to the UK and worked in a prestigious private laboratory in London.
Steve was appointed Principal Biomedical Scientist at Muscat Private Hospital, Sultanate of Oman in Nov 1999 where he recruited the laboratory staff, equipped and commissioned the laboratory and managed the laboratory as a business venture concentrating on a value for money concept with a quality service.
A Chartered Scientist, a State Registrant of the Health Professions Council and Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, his qualifications also include the Diploma in Medical Laboratory Management, Member of the Institute of Leadership and Management and Licentiate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. He is also a guest lecturer in Haematology for the Institute of Clinical Research

Registered Nurse
Trained in Glasgow, Joanne then worked in a Cottage Hospital in Wales before joining the Royal Air Force where she served for over 10 years as a Registered Nurse. Whilst serving with the RAF, she completed further training (Oncology) at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London then worked on an oncology (cancer) ward for 5 years.
Concluding her RAF career at the Defence Medical Services Training Centre, Joanne's responsibilities included the research, development and delivery of medical training to personnel of the paramedical trades of the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force.
Upon retirement from the RAF in 1999, Joanne spent some time in administration and IT posts, teaching IT for a private training company and for a local college. She then worked for BNA as an agency nurse in NHS and private hospitals in the Bedford area before being appointed Head Nurse in the Out Patient Department at Muscat Private Hospital, Sultanate of Oman where she was responsible for the day to day running of the department, staff recruitment and training.
A Registered General Nurse (RGN) and member of the Royal College of Nursing, Joanne also holds the ENB 237 Oncology Nursing Certificate, is a Member of the Institute of Leadership and Management and a Member of the National Association of Phlebotomists.
